The billionaires at the top of the food chain are stealing everything in sight, and the poor and destitute are getting more desperate.
In many areas crime is the only option that might pay enough to survive. It's just a sad fact.
The "crime" problem is complicated, but it can mostly be explained by trickle down's failure.
Then the powerful can steal, bribe, defraud, and rape children and never be prosecuted.
Maybe the Democrats could blame trickle down's failure and not lack of police for today's crime problems.

Can't be arresting "movers and shakers" now can they?
Don't even pretend there is justice in this country.
Criminals need to be put in prison. Start with the Trump Family.

I agree with the principle that being poor is a big motivation for people to commit crimes, though.

(9,988 posts)The most recent peak of violent crime in the US was from the 70s to the 90s. There are fewer violent crimes per capita committed now than there were then.
Also, big cities are not the epicenters of crime. If you look at list of the 10 biggest cities in the US and the 10 most dangerous ones, there is no overlap. No city is on both lists.
For an example, per Herald Review (2017 but really not that much has changed), Chicago is not even the most dangerous city in ILLINOIS.
