the vast majority are.

There's real concern among smarter people on the right about that, about a whole range of what some call "unintended consequences," foreseeing liberals insisting it be enforced. The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops opposed it because it's liable to shut down protests at abortion clinics.

Btw, the 41-page law's reportedly a major mess, besides constitutional issues. "It's a nightmare of commas," according to a defense attorney. It changes and creates new legal definitions, creates several new crimes, and creates new and alters old bureaucracy.

It's undoubtedly headed up the judicial chain, and a lot of law enforcement agencies foresee big problems from leaping into this giant can of worms and are trying to figure how which and how to enforce provisions.

There's a lot more in this bill, though, that should be turning up in the laws of other red states.

A beyond-stupid anti-"defunding" provision: "A key portion of the law limits the ability of a municipality to reduce the operating budget of a law enforcement agency if an objection is raised by either the state attorney or a city council member." Presumably local government could still shift responsibilities to more appropriate agencies, such as social services, say, but not shift funding with them.

An anti-doxxing provision which could extend to identifying the names of RW troublemakers.

The ACLU of Florida says it's "a house of cards." Sounds to me like a job creator.
