Doctors offices should be calling their patients

And asking if they want the vaccine. And then help to get them scheduled.

People trust their doctors and workers in the office.

Most are affiliated with a hospital who could help to get the vaccine in the arms close to where people live.

There needs to be regional coordination between hospitals and their physicians.

often understaffed.

What is being reported in Chicago when they go door to door many people still believe they have to pay for the vaccine. Many of them don't regularly go to see their doctors.

Of course it can't hurt to do both.

It’s obviously not about supply at this point.

Way to miss the point. Simple thinking getting us no where.

8. I've heard of that happening in some cities. My boss got a call from her doctor to come get the vax

I registered at my doctor's office, City Public Health, the university, the county, five others nearby, and even Doctor B (supposedly calls you if a place nearby has extra at the end of the day). Public health came through first, and I've heard from all the other places--except my doctor's office, which is part of a large medical system.

At the time the grocery stores and pharmacies didn't have it; now when I walk in those places, there's a line at the door. But I still haven't heard from my doctor.

vaccination. They are very actively encouraging patients to get vaccinated. Even after I was fully vaccinated, I continued to get those emails. On my last visit to my doctor, I was asked about my vaccination and showed them my vaccination card.

I think most doctors and health care systems are already doing what you suggest.

My PCP's office was leaving me multiple voicemails each day about getting vaccinated by them a couple months ago, until I called back to reveal that I was already fully vaccinated at a nearby pharmacy.

That medical office was only recently approved by Ohio to administer those vaccines, at that time, so that was probably the biggest reason for their sudden gung-ho attitude about it.

I remember thinking those kinds of calls might improve our vaccination rates, though.

The smug suburban anti-vaxxers, and the denizens of Nowheresville can blither all they want against the vaccine. Patients in the inner city know the drill. And they want to stay healthy.
