Brian Williams mic drop

Brian Williams: “To be fair, Gaetz—the same Matt Gaetz who faces sexual trafficking charges he denies—did also tweet today to Free Britney Spears, which kind of makes him a freedom fighter.”

Mic drop.

3. Never thought Williams would so redeem himself and become a favorite of mine, but he has.

I don't usually stay up that late, but I listen to his podcast most mornings and pull the video when I know I've really missed something.

I love his dry wit and snark.

5. I remember an Aesop's Fable from my childhood

It was an "Aesop's Fables for Children" book with old-timey sketches and drawings, and I really liked reading it through from time to time when I was a kid. One of the fables was about a dog that was such an incorrigible his owner finally tied a millstone around his collar, which banged and clattered as the dog walked around. Instead of changing his ways, the dog dragged the millstone around the town square, proud of all the attention he was attracting. Another animal in the square upbraided the dog for being proud of something he should be ashamed of.

Matt Gaetz is so proud of the millstone around his neck, and nobody's going to shame him for it.

Some news casters are like that -- the voice becomes so familiar to us.

I wait until he says it. Then I let go of the news for the day.

Life goes on.
