until the full committee can meet and make a permanent adjudication -- that could be disbarment.

When the review board starts to see actions likely to lead to disbarment, then suspend the license pending the hearings.
What they said in that piece, was that they take this action to prevent a lawyer like this from continuing to do professional damage.
I'm hoping that's what's going on here.
