Biden says more Americans will die as delta variant spreads: 'You know it's going to happen'

President Joe Biden said Thursday that Covid deaths in the United States will continue to rise due to the spread of the "dangerous" delta variant, calling it a "serious concern."

"Six-hundred-thousand-plus Americans have died, and with this delta variant you know there's going to be others as well. You know it's going to happen, we've got to get young people vaccinated," Biden said at a community center in Raleigh, N.C.

The variant, Biden said, is more easily transmissible and potentially deadly, "and especially dangerous for young people."

The president warned that Americans who are still unvaccinated are especially at risk.

I don't recall any stories of anyone refusing the polio vaccine. Maybe they should all be given a toaster or a savings bond as incentive. Would that change it up for them?

When it comes to deadly diseases, what they have not seen with their own eyes is not a threat to them or their children.

It's like an inverted reality. Maybe it's a recurring condition. Transubstantiation was quite a schism, historically. And there was Eric Hoffer's True Believer. Thought so hinders reality at times.

Its more transmissible overall BUT kids are no more likely to get sick from this as they were from any other Covid strain.

Those of us who are vaccinated are also just fine. Any of us with serious conditions can also wear a mask in addition.

But kids are not going to get any more sick from Delta then they did before. In fact, any reasonable healthy person under 30 won't even know they have Delta or any Covid strain.

Some on this forum seem to want this pandemic to be as bad as ever in the US...strange...
