After 213 years, it's official women in Paris can wear trousers. The most disobeyed law in the French capital except stopping for red lights has been declared null and void. Since 7 November 1800, it has been technically illegal for a woman to wear trousers in Paris without a police permit. Feb 4, 2013

For me, people think it's about the smarty but it's really about the pants.

If those are eucalyptus trees it's California.
After they reached San Francisco they rode south to Tijuana.
It's probably an eight lane highway in the background now

My brother built a few bikes in that style, not replicas of any particular brand, but something that might have been sold circa 1900-1920.
Well, except for the electronic ignitions and disc brakes... The first mass market motorcycle with disc brakes was the Honda CB750 introduced in 1969.

(45,519 posts)8. Women couldn't vote in some Swiss cantons until the 90s.
I wonder if these women wanted to defund/reform the police who were arresting them for wearing pants.

Joan of Arc was burned to death, not for heresy, but for wearing men's clothing, which made it more difficult for soldiers to rape her, which was considered a prerogative for soldiers back then.
Do you get that? She was put to death by men for daring to take measures to prevent rape.
Jesus. The human race, I swear...

I rode across the U.S. on a motorcycle and was frequently arrested for not wearing pants.
Come on, law dogs, which one is it? Pants, or no pants?
