Did Derek Chauvin's cryptic remark hint that he might be planning suicide?

It was just so weird when he said, ""There's going to be some other information in the future that would be of interest. And I hope things will give you some, some peace of mind. Thank you."

I don't know. I absolutely hope he does not commit suicide. I hope that he lives to serve out his full prison sentence. But I can imagine the overwhelming humiliation he must be feeling right now to be a cop going to prison. Well-deserved humiliation, of course, hopefully with a giant dose of shame thrown in.

and I have no doubt that his lawyer advised him to say as little as possible for that reason. There might be other facts relevant to that case that he was referring to but couldn't say more about it.

Maybe he was doing a "Sorry! Not sorry!" kind of hint that there is evidence that will come out that will show that he didn't kill George Floyd. Something that will prove that Floyd died of a medical condition OTHER than having the life squeezed out of him from a cop kneeling on his neck.

I’d like to see him humbled and change his life even behind four walls. He needs to show sorrow for what he did. He’s obviously not there yet, but he can get there.

be contemplating suicide (and I hope not). Like other posters have written, it could be he's hinting at evidence he believes will exonerate him.

Still, you never know.

I also think he's probably a psychopath. No, I can't prove it. It's just the vibe I get from those cold, dead eyes and that expressionless face. Both in the courtroom and while he was in the act of murdering George Floyd, he has never shown a shred of normal human emotion. It's creepy af; HE'S creepy af.

If I'm right about this, he'll never commit suicide. Those people think they're above it all, better than all of us "mere" humans, with our messy, ambivalent emotions. They don't kill themselves, just other people.

if I had been a police officer who had senselessly killed George Floyd. I think you're right that Chauvin does not have the humanity to feel remorse for what he has done. I think you're right, and I also agree that he is creepy af.

I thought his statement meant that his lawyer is telling him that they can still make that case. Who knows, maybe Chauvin's lawyer has convinced him that he didn't actually murder Floyd.

Based on what he did to George Floyd and his behavior since then, he does not seem to be troubled by a guilty conscience.
