https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/building-collapses-on-irving-park-road-no-injuries-reported-police/2541747/A one-story auto repair shop partially collapsed on Irving Park Road Saturday afternoon, police said.
According to officials, the front part of the building and roof collapsed, though no one was inside at the time as it was closed.
Officials have not released information on the cause of the collapse.
No more info, except news video, at link.
I've seen other news saying heavy rain was to blame.
Glad nobody was hurt!

(175,742 posts)1. We've had extremely heavy storms today.
Apparently that caused the collapse. https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2021/06/26/severe-storms-dunning-building-collapse/

I'm a native Chicagoan, so I pay attention to what's happening there, generally.
Ty for sharing.

It's been a mess here. I live a few blocks from the Eisenhower and it had to be closed yesterday because of flooding. So far today, it's not raining.

Between around noon & 5, we had sirens go off, phone alert, and the EBS on the cable all triggered. Three times.
We got 6" plus since 11am on Thursday.
No rain today, down here either.
