NOW he tells us? William Barr: "It was all bullshit."

“My attitude was: It was put-up or shut-up time. If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it. But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bullshit.”

— Former Attorney General William Barr, quoted by The Atlantic, on former President Donald Trump’s claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

With Barr admitting he thought the ex-president's claims were "bullshit," he also revealed that Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) implored him to get it through to Trump that there was no fraud and that he needed to drop it.

According to the report, McConnell knew that Trump's claims that the election was rigged would impact the Republicans' ability to hang onto Georgia's two Senate seats -- which they subsequently lost.

According to Karl's report, McConnell told Barr, "Look, we need the president in Georgia, and so we cannot be frontally attacking him right now. But you're in a better position to inject some reality into this situation. You are really the only one who can do it."

Shoveling shit for Trump, and now that it's over he's saying, That man was cray.

Congratulations, Barr. Your entire life has been about setting up a Monarch/Dictator in America, protecting them from the oversight even allowed by our Constitution, and now you find out that you were combing the public hairs of a madman.

I have a very strong stomach, so I skim them a couple times a day to keep my opposition intel up to date - nobody is outright sour on him, but there's a clear and growing tone that maybe, just maybe, he can't always produce everything he promises.

Of course, they're chalking it up to the Eeeeevil Satanic Child Eaters wearing Him (yes, some of them capitalize) down, or His realizing that he's not getting any younger and He would be better off as an elder statesman, or He thought government was more like business but it turns out He can't just fire people at will, or or or....but loyalty is no longer absolutely unquestionable, the first tiny cracks of doubt have appeared...

and he did this by enabling and giving cover to a depraved, delusional sociopath..."allowing" him to decimate the constitution, make putrid every government department and agency, vengefully destroy lives and reputations of career government officials replacing them with know-nothing loyal suck-ups, validate nazis and racists, tear families apart, cage babies, ban muslims, diminish and disappear the Mueller Report, ignore congressional subpoenas, lie to congress...and only when he personally would take a hit, threaten to resign...and he was the good guy, am I right??...and so now Barr's Wash the Trump Stink Off Tour begins...we were there, you craven asshole zealot...we were there!

thoroughly partisan - and perceived by everyone as such - even while serving as AG. When people (McConnell) are going to the AG of the U.S. - openly asking for favors to the benefit of "our side" - there can be little doubt of the partisan capture (and lasting damage) to the Dept.

Barr was a partisan hack hand picked to replace another partisan hack that turned out to have a smidgen too much respect for Justice and democratic norms. He can never be rehabilitated because he was not only party to but also instrumental and purposeful in the degradation of his office.
