When I hear "Louisiana Senator" I just about always think corrupt or stupid.

Well, Louisiana politics does have that long record of corruption and stupidity.

Sen. Bill Cassidy: 'Roads and bridges are a woman's problem' because they are 'doing the shopping'

"My wife says that roads and bridges are a woman's problem if you will," the senator added. "Because oftentimes it is the woman -- aside from commuting to work -- who's also taking children to schools or doing the shopping. And the more time that she spends on that road, the less time she spends doing things of higher value."

Ronald Reagan is asking his advisors (three white men, naturally,) how to appeal more to women.

These are the responses:

"Sure Chief, I'll ask my better half."
"I know some broads who would know."
"Dames!"

Here is my take. If Cassidy had not made that statement, but AOC did, it would probably be lauded as an insightful statement into the unfortunate realities of today's society concerning women. 🤔😉

It feels good to have decent Senators work together to solve problems. I am listening to Mitt Romney. He said no to a massive tax increase but there could be some changes.

Mitch has relegated himself to minority status with his nasty do nothing. He will not be minority leader long. They are going around him to get things done. Neither side will get everything but there will be other bills.

He said women will support the infrastructure bill because not only do they commute but they also shop and transport kids. It is smart to realize women do more than their share. Both Louisiana Senators are smart. And both are better than many Republican senators. I think Biden can get their support on some of his proposals. Remember Cassidy is trying to sell this infrastructure deal.

Cassidy voted to convict Trump in the second impeachment. He founded a medical clinic for poor uninsured people in Baton Rouge. What he said about women, that they commute and shop and transport kids, in other words do more than their share of a family’s work, is not sexist. I think attacking someone trying to get Biden’s infrastructure bill passed is not a good idea.

Not all Republicans are 100% satanic. We can get good things done by working with some of them.
