Respectfully, Ive heard your point about the last year, but you and every other republican voted against this $350 billion, Wallace told Indiana congressman Jim Banks.

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace challenged Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) on Sunday over his claims that Democrats are responsible for rising violent crime rates due to ant-police rhetoric, pointing out that Republicans are the ones who have actually voted against additional law enforcement funding.
After President Joe Biden said he would target law-breaking gun dealers in his new anti-crime plan last week, Banks wrote an op-ed for Fox News website in which he blasted President Joe Biden for not daring to admit Democrats responsibility for the crime spikes, claiming there is overwhelming evidence connecting the rise in murders to the violent riots last summer and the Defund the Police movement.
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Banks continued to push his talking points, insisting that the president was being held hostage by The Squad, a group of progressive lawmakers that includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), among others.
After Banks asserted that Democrats have spent a year stigmatizing police and providing a recipe that criminals in every city in America are liking, Wallace confronted the congressman on his personal opposition to additional funding for local law enforcement agencies.

Hell, they even voted against honoring those who risked life and limb to protect their own sorry GQP asses.
The blatant hypocrisy of these folks is just breathtaking.

(7,850 posts)because Wallace, the moderator was unable to control an already covid infected Trump, he unwittingly exposed Trump as a venal blathering know-nothing bully and that allowed Biden to say the forever iconic "Will you shut up, man" with no push back for Wallace

(17,599 posts)everything i hear from them is a complete utter lie that only morons or anti-Americans would fall for. This idiot is another of one other disgusting traitors. He calls out peaceful demonstrations against police killing innocent black men, but not a word about the violent overthrow of a democratically elected government by his fellow trump loving imbecile traitors.

(8,924 posts)I am glad Wallace checked him on his voting record. For the record. But, it's not nearly enough.
I wish for once I would see the discussion get even further down into the weeds of facts. When the politician says police are being defunded causing crime rate to go up, or, police are being "taken off the street", how about a follow up question of "where have police been defunded?" Or, give an example of anywhere police "are being taken off the street". He would be forced to deflect because he can't give any actual examples of something that isn't actually happening.
Then add on that he and his party didn't even vote to recognize the police that saved their asses on January 6.
These Republican politicians need to be assaulted with the facts demonstrating what hypocrites and bold face liars they are. It's sickening what low forms of life they represent and that our law making process has dissented to this vomit inducing level.
