What a relief that must be!

felt it was also notably a woman's problem because they do so much of the shopping and driving the kids, in addition to commuting to and from work.

"There's a lot here to like. It's a good bill."

Love to hear it from a Republican.

Women do carry a lot of responsibility in families, taking the kids to school, grocery shopping, and going to and from their own jobs. Then they get to do a lot of the cooking and cleaning, too. Sure, some men stay home and the wife works, but I think women often do a lot of the driving.

So this bill will appeal to women too. Sounds ok to me.

might give you the impression that Cassidy is saying we don't need to do anything about infrastructure because it is a woman's problem. Which he is not. It isn't even his quote, it is his wife's. If anything his statement is somewhat supportive and sympathetic towards woman who may be spending more time out on the road then men shopping/taking kids to practice, in addition to time going to work. Although I'd like to tell his wife that just because a woman might do all the shopping and child rearing in a rethug household, doesn't mean that there aren't us men out here that pitch in a lot more than just driving to and from work every day.

Roads and bridges are obviously everybody’s problem. Everybody who ever leaves their house to go somewhere or who purchases goods of any kind. It’s a reflection of how little empathy GOPers really have. Even when they are trying to sound supportive, it comes out sounding odd.

to other skeptical rethugs. He then related that he would suggest those rethugs talk to their constituents and see that they want/need this.

Infrastructure is important to woman because they spend more time out and about.

Hopefully, he, as a US Senator, understands that infrastructure is kind of a thing for everybody. Also, neglecting the fact that most people work outside of the home and would be impacted if everything just felt apart one day.

But he said in addition to commuting to work women also do these other things. Is it bad? I don't know. there's a lot of truth in what he said. But if we are hating because he's a republican well I guess I'm all in then...
