Gorillas act like humans when a snake enters their habitat - Disneyworld

https://insidethemagic.net/2021/06/animal-kingdom-gorillas-snake-th1/

The footage — which has now been viewed almost five million times — sees a young gorilla idly sitting at the glass window when something catches its eye. It circles around slowly, not quite sure what hides in the straw at the corner of its home. Soon after, another gorilla approaches to join the search and that’s when chaos erupts.

Guests can be headed shouting “there’s a snake!” while the action unfolded. The small reptile was too quick for the gorillas but that didn’t stop the whole troop — including what looks like the silverback — crowding around the snake. In the video, a Cast Member is heard saying how “just like humans, our gorillas are very curious about what goes on in their habitat”. Gorillas are known to be incredibly intelligent species of wild animals.

7. I saw the body of a snake as big around as my thigh once.

I couldn’t see his head or tail, but I could see 8-10 feet of body. I freaked out.

My brother and I saw the same snake about three years later, he was rolling around in a farm pond. He was so big, we thought it was a car tire someone had thrown in the pond. Again this time, we couldn’t see his head or tail, but saw about 10-12 feet of body. It’s probably still there.

I was once in a situation where I didn't actually see a snake, but was told there was a large snake in a barrel in the same room I had just spent an hour in.

Just the thought of it terrified me.

And yet I was told - if you get bit, get a good look at the snake (so we know what it was) and walk calmly towards help. If you run you circulate the venom faster.

Freaks me out many years later.

Hell, I freak out when I see a rusty length of steel rope snaking through the underbrush. Even after I identify it, I can't go near it.
