Clueless (Brooks Edition)

During the Capehart/Brooks segment on the PBS Newshour Friday, in regards to the H1/S1 voting rights bill, David Brooks said:

I hate having the federal government involved in state voting procedures

HUH?

Article One, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States of America grants the states the power to regulate the congressional election process, but establishes that Congress can alter those regulations or make its own regulations. Not to mention there's that little ditty called the 1964 Voting Rights Act.

Sounds like Brooks has been drinkin' some of dat der Orange Kool-Aid.

Partisan bills belting passed daily prove how necessary federal law is. Brooks can pontificate all he wants.
