Joe Biden was elected in 1972 and started serving in the Senate in 1973.
Mitch McConnell was 1st elected in 1984 and started serving in the Senate in 1985.
Joe Biden is 12 years Mitch's senior in the Senate. Plus, Joe served this country well as Vice-President for 8 years.
So for baggage, Joe has Hunter......"the RW has desperately tried to MAKE Hunter Biden his baggage" to avoid such concerns because it is irritating to see
(Please see post 9 for clarification)
Mitch has his wife, Elaine Chao.
I propose we go after Mitch and Elaine and her family ties.
Just an early morning thought/rant.......
And then I went searching, just for a start at Wikipedia...... check this out friends!!
McConnell is a Southern Baptist, baptized at age 8.[187] He was married to his first wife, Sherrill Redmon, from 1968 to 1980 and had three daughters.[188] Following their divorce, she became a feminist scholar at Smith College and director of the Sophia Smith Collection.[189][190] His second wife, whom he married in 1993, is Elaine Chao, Secretary of Laborunder President George W. Bush and , Secretary of Labor under President George W. Bush and Secretary of Transportation under President Donald Trump.[191]
In 1997, he founded the James Madison Center for Free Speech, a Washington, D.C.-based legal defense organization.[192][193]
In February 2003, McConnell underwent a triple heart bypass surgery in relation to blocked arteries at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.[194]
In 2010, the OpenSecrets website ranked McConnell one of the wealthiest members of the U.S. Senate, based on net household worth.[195] His personal wealth was increased after receiving a 2008 personal gift to him and his wife, given by his father-in-law James S. C. Chao after the death of McConnell's mother-in-law, whose value has been estimated to be $525 million.[196]
McConnell was inducted as a member of the Sons of the American Revolution on March 1, 2013.[197]
In May 2019, McConnell's brother-in-law Gordon Hartogensis, who is married to Chao's sister Grace, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), a part of the Labor Department.[198][199][200][201] McConnell voted to confirm.[202]
McConnell is on the Board of Selectors of Jefferson Awards for Public Service.[203]

I think we need a new focus!!
I WAS TRYING TO POSIT THAT JOE HAS GOT THIS!! AND THAT WE SHOULD HELP PUT THE FOCUS WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE!! ELANIE CHAO, HER FAMILY AND MITCH MCCONNELL!!I
I believe President Biden can take out Mitch and his obstruction overnight. I believe President Biden is trying to hold this country together to the best of his ability and he believes in the depths of his very soul in compromise. I also have no doubt he will handle "Mitch".

Dems get reamed for family ties while Repubs get away with shit all over.
Yeah, there's a double standard. We follow the rules more often and suffer for it.

(8,445 posts)I voted for Joe Biden/Kamala Harris. I'm absolutely sure that Hunter Biden's name wasn't on my ballot.
Even if his name WAS on the ballot, how in the hell do Repukes have any room to say anything?
I have no reason to believe that Hunter Biden isn't a good person who is on the right track now. Donald Trump is still the morally decrepit criminal he's been all of his adult life.
"Even if his name WAS on the ballot, how in the hell do Repukes have any room to say anything?"
They have room to say anything and everything because they dominate the airwaves across the country. Until the Democratic party gets serious about putting its message out on the airwaves so that folks in rural areas understand that the good things that happen to them come as a result of Democratic policies, right wing radio will continue to spew lies and hate and turn people who have neither the interest nor the energy into mindless robots who vote based on only one issue.
Democrats need radio, and I don't see any interest in it happening on a large scale. Until we do, we continue to roll that boulder up the mountain.

(1,735 posts)For some reason (irrational paranoia?) I thought of the NYT story from a few days ago, about right wing spies infiltrating Democratic organizations, campaigns, progressive groups, etc.. It appears to be part of a well-financed, long term strategy to undermine all things Democratic, democratic, and progressive.

it was quite a sordid story. There was definitely a cover up.
