Covid Reporting Fix, vaccinated vs unvaccinated

We all know the unvaccinated people are a crisis waiting to happen in the US. I think a change in how local, state, and federal governments report daily cases and deaths can make a significant difference. Start reporting cases and deaths with a break down of how many cases and deaths were unvaccinated vs vaccinated people. This slight change could be a huge motivator for millions of unvaccinated people.

We all know there are a % of the people that will never get vaccinated, but I think there are easily 15% that could be persuaded. So instead of this: "The US saw 12,500 new cases and 295 new deaths from Covid yesterday." Report this instead, "The US saw 12,500 new cases, 12,420 from unvaccinated people, and only 80 from vaccinated people yesterday. And the US saw 295 deaths yesterday, 294 from unvaccinated people, 1 from a vaccinated person."

Or maybe even report them completely separate, like, "The US unvaccinated population saw 12,420 new Covid cases and 294 deaths yesterday, the vaccinated population saw 80 cases and 1 death from Covid yesterday."

Right now the way it's being reported just makes the vaccine hesitant think that it doesn't matter, they can get it whether they're vaccinated or not.

If you don't know the exact numbers, have the medical community provide estimates. Reporting this way could save a lot of lives.

The number of anti-vaxxers due to an unfounded conviction that vaccines are inherently bad or evil and those who are politically demotivated is quite small.

The balance of those who haven't been to the shot doctor suffer from a characteristically unique American combination of "I'll do it until I need glasses" (If you don't get the reference, you're too young. Go out and play. You'll figure it out.) and a tendency to not be able to prioritize what they want from what they need. Along with a cherry of denial on top.

With this in mind, I really think what you're proposing would motivate that second group to seek vaccination. If the immediate danger of the situation is made clear and helps them see this is something they need... Right frickin' now.

And I’ve seen it starting to be mentioned here and there about how the cases and deaths are almost all from the unvaccinated now, but I just think official reporting of it will drive it home like nothing else could.
