Full title:

Trump seemed to acknowledge the existence of tax schemes the Trump Org is being prosecuted for, while denying they are crimes

Former President Donald Trump used a rally in Florida on Saturday to rail against the prosecution of the Trump Organization and its CFO.

Both are accused of dodging tax with an elaborate system of benefits, from utility bills and rental payments to the schooling feeds for CFO Allen Weisselberg's grandson.

In the course of attacking the prosecution, Trump appeared to confirm the existence of the arrangements - which in court have the status of allegations by prosecutors rather than established fact.

Trump's argument appeared to be that his company's approach to tax was one that anybody might take, and that Manhattan prosecutors were acting disproportionately by pursuing a prosecution.

"They go after good, hard-working people for not paying taxes on a company car," Trump said.

"You didn't pay tax on the car or a company apartment. You used an apartment because you need an apartment because you have to travel too far where your house is

"You didn't pay tax. Or education for your grandchildren. I don't even know. Do you have to? Does anybody know the answer to that stuff?"

She said rich people shouldn't pay taxes. "Only little people pay taxes!"

Then she served 18 months in prison.

But the sentencing for Martha Stewart on the other hand was way over the top.

Not a Martha Stewart worshiper, but it sure felt like her sentencing was unfairly harsh.

Everyone knew he was guilty of many serious crimes, but in the end, they got him on income tax evasion. Such a well known story, you'd think Trump would be familiar with it.

Trump thinks he is too clever for that to happen to him. After all he has a "very, very large brain".

Well now, it appears that somebody DOES know the answer to "that stuff" and soon Trump will as well.

He always hires the "best people", but apparently not the best accountants or financial advisers.

The argument is: of course he didn’t pay taxes, but people like us aren’t supposed to!

"You didn’t pay tax on the car or a company apartment...you didn’t pay tax, or education for your grandchildren — I, don’t even know what do you have to put? Does anybody know the answer to that stuff?"

Prosecutors call this an admission...
