"SNIP......
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) tweeted that members of the U.S. military have contacted him saying they will quit if forced to get a COVID-19 vaccine, the Louisville Courier-Journal reports,
Others on the platform informed Massie that members of the armed forces cannot simply quit the military.

(9,674 posts)Adding to the fun, we were poked and prodded by people who were qualified, and often enough, by people who were NOT qualified while often using dubious treatments.

(206,009 posts)I've never been in the military, but I would guess that being accepted for military service would involve being current on regular and necessary inoculations just as it would be for entering school.

(23,364 posts)Soldiers are given tons of shots for all kinds of stuff. Especially before being posted overseas. How many will risk bad discharges, reductions in rank and pay? A handful, maybe, the ones who are thinking of AWOL anyway.

(206,009 posts)Traveling overseas to certain places often involves required inoculations. This is no different except for those Republicans who choose to make it political. And cause trouble.

(29,676 posts)No one wants a dishonorable discharge- and that's the least of their worries. AWOL can catch a charge.

If anyone was to go AWOL over a shot, I highly doubt they would, there would be simple NJP in their future

(18,770 posts)When we invaded Panama. There were rumors that our training was going to be cut short and we were going to be deployed to combat.
The military is in part a gossip club that constantly generates rumors. Most of them are ridiculous, and like this one, easily realized to be false with a mom
