(14,764 posts)Though we are supposed to get up to the low 80's in the next few days.
We were in the 90's last week though, so this is a relief.

(619 posts)read 101 today at the highest, the regional temp is usually 3 or 4 higher than my back porch temperature. Tonight we are getting what they call "the delta breeze" when the marine layer is allowed inland by low pressure....cools things off real nice.

(34,111 posts)over and over!
NE Kansas is usually melting by now and dry and just awful. This year reminds me of how it used to be. We have had only a few weeks where it was really dry and hot. Right now it is 72 and our high was only 77 but cloudy off and on and felt really cool. Windows open and comfortable. We will hit 60 tonight! I have stopped counting our rain. This is like it used to be. My farm is so green it is like a jungle. It is going to warm up and dry up this week then go right back to this, maybe not so cool.
Cloudy, we are overcast now at 2000. We will bounce around the 80's and 90's this week with more rain on the way mid week through the weekend.
It is so much nicer than it has been in years.

(25,399 posts)Been pounding out code at 30 wpm for over 50 years. Piloted top-secret airborne radio-intercept and direction-finding aircraft in Vietnam (RU-8Ds and SP-2Es), mainly on night missions in Laos and Cambodia over the Ho Chi Minh Trail that DF'd NVA, VC, Khmer Rouge, and Pathet Lao radios (mostly sending code - CW). The NVA (People's Army of Vietnam) were extremely proficient at Morse code, and used all the standard Q codes. Our radio intercept operators, working in the back (the cabin of the aircraft), often copied Morse code from NVA or VC operators sending at 40 wpm.
And, of course, QRZ in the brevity codes means "Who is calling?" or "Who are you?"

(9,076 posts)Friday and Saturday were a bit hot. But not excessively so for us. 100 and 103 respectively. Kind of normal for summer. Then it all dove. Mid-80s, low 50s at night. Amazing sleeping weather.
It's supposed to be like this all week. 70s. Which is actually quite cool for us in summer. I'll take it.
There's no humidity here. Only fire danger, as ever.
