Nina Turner Blows Pledge Not to Take Lobbyist Money

Dem Star Nina Turner Blows Pledge Not to Take Lobbyist Money
Bernie Sanders’ 2020 national co-chair Nina Turner said she wouldn’t take lobbyist donations. Guess what happened next.

Roger Sollenberger
Political Reporter

The Democratic frontrunner for an open congressional seat in Ohio, Nina Turner, pledged in January that she would not accept campaign contributions from lobbyists or corporations. But weeks later, she appears to have done just that....

According to Federal Election Commission records, however, the Turner campaign reported a March 31 donation of $1,000 from the director of Amare Public Affairs, a firm Turner founded last September as an offshoot of D.C.-based lobbying shop Mercury Public Affairs. And on Jan. 19, three days after her tweet, Turner accepted $250 from a partner at Mercury, per FEC filings....

Mercury has gained a great deal of public notoriety over the last few years. The firm had extensive revolving door ties to Trump administration officials, and made millions as a foreign agent for entities associated with geopolitical adversaries such as China, Libya, Russia, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s regime.

Last year, Reuters reported that the FBI had launched a national security investigation into Mercury client NSO Group Technologies, on suspicion that the shady Israeli-based spyware company had hacked U.S. residents and American businesses.

Better, they may think, to have someone in a district they could never win anyway who would most assuredly spread hate and discontent.

Why not encourage the most disruptive ‘Democrat’ possible - one who would actively work against party unity and cooperation? One tied to every splinter faction to come down the pike in the last decade - including the fucking GREENS, I might add. It makes perfect sense to the evil, Machiavellian mind.

and it was strictly out of bad intentions, which worked. They can't win this seat, but they use every race to try to cause bad trouble for Democrats.

I'm surprised that ANYONE supports her after supporting and voting for and palling around with Jill Fucking Stein (refusing to support Hillary Clinton) and comparing Joe Biden to a "bowl of shit".

The only reason she's running "as a" Democrat this time in Ohio is because her PREFERRED "People's Party" couldn't get on the ballot in time. She doesn't WANT to be a Democrat. She's not a LOYAL Democrat. She's just using the Democratic party.

So with all that as background and history... it's really no surprise to me to hear the most recent revelation.

I was just sent her latest ad where she claimed her opponent ( there are several but this is her strongest one, Shontel Brown) is doing a negative ad of her, all the while depicting Ms. Brown in an unflattering outrageous photo in black and white footage, ala the typical Republican style ads against democrats. Turner continues to show a vicious, hypocritical side to her persona that is the norm of the wacky trumpkissing repub sychophants. She wouldn’t serve the constituents of this important district right and could be damaging to the party nationally. Our side doesn’t want a mirror image of the likes of boebert and mt greene.

progressive Democrat Shontel Brown. She was just fine when donations to her from outside social media fans dwarfed donations to all candidates from that district's voters.

Her early media-driven lead's reportedly narrowing as the district's voters learn more about her.
