When it comes to protecting our right to vote, all cards are on the table. We broke #quorum again today because the Gov & #txlege Repubs chose to bully Texans out of our constitutional rights instead of finding solutions to problems that really exist. #SuppressionSession #DemsOut twitter.com/TexasHDC/statu

Is this a private charter plane and are they all vaccinated?
summer_in_TX
(2,739 posts)All vaccinated.
Even in an enclosed space, if all are vaccinated there's no need for a mask.

(22,483 posts)And I don't.
If the CDC says that there is a variant out there that this vaccine won't protect against, (and I mean for hospitalization or death......people get sick) then I will worry and I will be first in line for a booster. But damn it I got this vaccine so I could be free and that's how I am living my life now.

(21,107 posts)My wife's immune system is compromised because of Stage 4 Lymphoma. Even though both of us received the vaccine early on, we still can't afford to take any chances. YMMV. I will stand by my guns, small though they be, I wish they had been wearing mask.

(15,036 posts)where these same Democrats are seen at a news conference last week and on a bus going to the airport today:
https://www.texastribune.org/2021/07/12/texas-democrats-voting-bill-quorum/
And yes, probably all vaccinated but still . . . appearances can be all. But in this case, if this effort to stop voter suppression works, they won't be remembered for their lack of masks.

(45,457 posts)it's most definitely chartered
ShazzieB
(16,426 posts)That rule does not apply to a private chartered flight.
On commercial flight, you're cooped up in that tube with a bunch of strangers whose vaccine status you know nothing about. This is a group of people who know each other, and each of them knows the others have been vaccinated. A group of vaccinated people in an enclosed space together do not need to wear masks. Even on a (noncommercial) airplane flight.

(7,263 posts)50 people who are ALL vaccinated, locked in a pre-cleaned cabin where the air is refreshed and recirculates within seconds, do not need to be masked.
Public flights are a different matter. Apples and oranges.

(7,263 posts)My god - we have all suffered for a year...the reward is that if you are around everyone else who is vaccinated you do not need to wear a mask. And if I am in that situation - with my family - we DO NOT WEAR masks. Everywhere else - yes.
WHO and CDC agree. Scientists agree. Drs. agree.
Life goes on and those of us who are responsible and vaccinated should enjoy it as much as they can - let's stop pounding on our own and get back to reality.

(94,598 posts)Commercial air flights are governed by FEDERAL law. You MUST still wear a mask on planes, trains, and public transportation per USDOT regulations (I'm a transportation planner; I work with these people).
LanternWaste
(37,748 posts)Try not to do that if you're getting paid for it... your incorrect information could have negative repercussions on a professional level.

(3,769 posts)I can't imagine what this country would be like if the GOP has its way and turns it into an autocratic nation. Trump really liked being a dictator and if he had been able to succeed in taking over the presidency our 'former' country would no longer exist. As an 81-year-old, I don't think I could have managed!

These folks look like normal, well-adjusted, and happy people who care about others. They're smiling and the smiles reach their eyes.
republicans always looks like they're the most miserable pricks you'd ever want to leave on the side of the road.
I guess if you're a hateful and self-hating prick, you'd vote for the same type of person.
