Daniel Slater, 51, of Jupiter, Fla., wanted his ex-girlfriend killed, along with the woman’s sister and brother-in-law, whom he blamed for sabotaging the couple’s relationship, court documents state. Slater believed he had found someone to carry out the job and instructed them to spray paint “Black Lives Matter” at the scene of the crime, according to investigators. Slater devised the plan as protests erupted across the country last year in the wake of George Floyd’s murder.

The person Slater was trying to hire, though, turned out to be an undercover FBI agent.

Now Slater, who was indicted in June 2020 within days of trying to launch the plot, could serve up to 10 years in prison. He pleaded guilty last week to murder-for-hire in a deal in which federal prosecutors dropped several other charges against him.

Both sides agreed he should serve the maximum 10 years, although a judge will formally sentence him at a future hearing. His attorney declined to comment on the case.

Daniel Slater, 51, admitted to hiring what he believed to be a hitman to kill his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend and her sister and brother-in-law who he thought was responsible for ruining their relationship, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Especially a girlfriend easily young enough to be his daughter.
He's obviously a creepy dude, even before he decided on a murder for revenge plan was fomented.

Put an add in the paper? Ask your friends for a recommendation, try Craig's list? Would you ask the hit man for references? What is the going rate for a three-fer? I wouldn't know if I was getting ripped off or not. . I hate it when you hire an FBI informant to do a mass murder. (you just can't trust anyone any more) Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap.

The BLM part was a nice touch though...Reckon what kind of mind that came from?

My wife and I are re-watching all of the old Columbo's episodes. Columbo could solve that one without just one more question.
