The media lash out at "boring" Biden

After feasting on four years of Trump chaos inside the White House where leaks, gossip and scandal were the norm, Beltway journalists are losing patience with President Joe Biden’s brand of efficient and professional governing. The frustration is now spilling out into the open.

This week, the New York Times mocked Biden’s speech-giving skills, calling him “boring” and unable to inspire. The article’s sub-headline read, “Even the president labeled a speech boring recently, an admission that highlights a tendency toward delivering minutiae-filled discourse over scaling oratorical heights.”

The Times specifically acknowledged that while Biden’s speeches are often drowning in detail and substance, they’re not satisfying (to journalists) because there’s no music behind them. They’re not entertaining.

Oh, how they miss the Orange One.

“I loved covering Trump,” one prominent White House reporter said. “It was a great and fascinating story. It wasn’t just about him; it was about his movement and the institutions and America. The story was always so dramatic and had these larger than life characters. The stakes often felt very high. I like covering Biden, too, but it just doesn’t feel as dramatic.”

The media nostalgia is tangible, almost wistful. But never forget that Trump ripped families apart at the border. He colluded with a foreign power while in office. Got impeached twice. Called neo-Nazis “very fine people.” Made a public health emergency worse every day he was in office. Accused Obama of spying on his campaign. Shut down the government for one month because Congress wouldn’t fund his border wall to nowhere. He spent months denigrating the integrity of American elections.

Today, reporters can’t disguise their disdain for Biden, while missing Trump because he was “dramatic.” What an unflattering portrait journalists paint of themselves.

With President Obama, you shitheads went on and on and on about his oratorical flair and soaring rhetoric, and constantly castigated him for "not saying anything". Empty words. Meaningless poetry. No substance.

While that was demonstrably untrue, now you've got what you pretended you wanted all the time, and you're still complaining.

If the only way you can get attention for whatever putrid little media platform you support is with TFG's blithering verbal excrement, maybe it's time to put a little effort into the noble cause of journalism. Blaming the news for the quality of the reporting is just laziness at its worst.

6. Covering Trump was easy. They could pick out his key words in his attacks.

The media acts all earnest when being individually interviewed on TV but they didn't have to delve too deeply with Trump. Like the print and radio coverage during McCarthy. McCarthy knew they had deadlines and gave the lazy press some headlines just before deadline times and he played them and rode it to the heights. He pulled different numbers from his rear every time, but the papers hawked McCarthy claims X number of commies in State Department, Hollywood, etc. They helped with the ruination of many people great and small. Without the lazy press playing their role in that, it would never have happened. He smeared George Marshall, who actually saved Europe from falling to Communism because it's economy was shattered and the people were miserable. Without hope they would have fallen to another populist promising anything.

Add to that the press was greatly admired by many during the Trump era for being "a free press and reporting on Trump's lies." They really miss all that admiration. They got much admiration and gratitude from us just for not being Fox. Well, thank goodness not everyone can be Fox, but we expect more from them. I really don't mind if my President is a little dull. There's a lot of institutional knowledge in that old head of his, plus he seems to have more integrity than most. So please can they get back to their real job.

Reporters are bored! It's not so exciting to cover President Biden. He never calls us the enemy of the people. Nobody from the Washington Post has been dismembered by the Saudi royal family for years now. There was an edge those days that's missing now. Boo to the hoo!
