Mississippi reports at least 7 kids in ICU with COVID-19

Mississippi is seeing another alarming trend among new COVID-19 cases. They are sending children into the ICU. The top health official in the state said seven kids are currently in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.

Of those seven children in the ICU with COVID-19 in Mississippi, State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs said two are on ventilators. In Tennessee, health officials haven’t seen kids quite as sick, but with school starting soon doctors said there are precautions to take.

“With the new delta variant coming in there’s a question of what will this look like in pediatrics,” LeBonheur Children’s Hospital’s Director of Infection Prevention Dr. Nick Hysmith said.

This early on, it’s unclear if the delta strain of COVID-19 will affect patients, including pediatric patients, differently, but one thing is clear.

And since Tennessee has decided to shut down all vaccine information aimed at juveniles, look what they could be in for. BTW, LeBonheur Children's Hospital is in Memphis and gets many of Mississippi's sick kiddies.

on several levels. Red states have the lowest vaccination levels and the poorest medical care overall. They're the ones whose governors or legislatures voted not to expand Medicaid. And Mississippi is one of the worst. BTW, Chris Hayes had Dr. Michelle Fiscus, the fired head of Tennessee's Dept. of Health, as a guest last night.

Assumes facts not in evidence. I am advocating for what is approved on an emergency basis. There are millions of ELIGIBLE children who will not receive the vaccine because of their parents.

On edit. Tennessee has stopped ALL vaccine notification for school age children just this week.

They could take an extra week to finally realize they need to get their kid to a doctor.

This is going to be common all through the coming fall and winter.

The children should ABSOLUTELY be given the ICU beds before the anti-vaxxer adults.

18 and over anti-vaxxers should be left to natural selection.
