Washington PostWeve dubbed these workers, wages and weed.
Legislation supporting workers, improving wages and legalizing marijuana are progressive, Democratic policies. But theyre also extremely popular among Republicans and moderates.
According to the Pew Research Center, 91 percent of Americans say marijuana should be legal for medical or recreational use. A Reuters/Ipsos poll from February found that roughly 6 out of 10 voters supported a $15 minimum wage. And other recent polls found that more than 80 percent of likely voters supported paid leave programs for workers.
Julie Oliver and Mike Siegel, former Democratic congressional candidates, are co-founders of Ground Game Texas.

(53,041 posts)It's fine to legalize weed, but making it a major slogan is not a good idea.
Perhaps families, workers, and wages?

(36,111 posts)It's so 90s, but uh, aging politicians don't realize the Norman Rockwellesque picture they're conjuring doesn't match with current demographics. The worst is "working families." Ugh, so many singles, so many retired, disabled, unemployed, etc
Just "people" is fine

(8,926 posts)Not necessarily part of a slogan (I don't care for slogans anyway), but we need to drive the message home to the 91% that only the ignorant, outdated, old white republican and fascist authoritarians are blocking it - and they must be taken out of the way for the country to move forward on this way overdue issue. Once again, another issue where the minority is trying to exercise authoritarian control over what the vast majority of people have clearly said we want.
