"SNIP.......

“Biden administration health officials increasingly think that vulnerable populations will need booster shots even as research continues into how long the coronavirus vaccines remain effective,” the New York Times reports.

“Senior officials now say they expect that people who are 65 and older or who have compromised immune systems will most likely need a third shot from Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, two vaccines based on the same technology that have been used to inoculate the vast majority of Americans thus far. That is a sharp shift from just a few weeks ago, when the administration said it thought there was not enough evidence to back boosters yet.”

"That is a sharp shift from just a few weeks ago..." -- they make it sound so dramatic, like the ship of state is veering wildly from side to side.

The fact is, a few weeks ago, the administration said they didn't know if boosters would be be needed because there wasn't enough evidence. Now, a few weeks later, they're saying they have enough evidence to show that boosters will likely be needed. A "sharp shift?" Hardly.

3. +1. Everyone has been saying since the UK variant that booster shots were a possibility.

If there's any "news" in this story it's that anyone ever seriously thought this wasn't where we were going to end up.

Maybe they can include some additives to further protect against the delta and other coming variants...

when I got my second shot, I was told there would most likely be a booster, and not to laminate my card. And I'm not vulnerable, that I know of.

13. I wish they would test antibody levels to determine if you need one instead of age.

I can see a one size fits all for a higher age, something like if you are 70 or older you get one.

If you are under 50 to 70 they test your antibody levels to determine if you need a booster.

Something like that would get more people who really need the booster the shot.

14. Yes. But I think they are probably taking samples. They do know of some categories

of people who do not hold onto immunity well like people on chemo, transplant patients, and others. But I would love it if they tested immunity of many. Maybe you could volunteer to be sampled?
