'Hes regretful': Radio host who doubted vaccines hospitalized with COVID, family says
Jeanine Santucci
USA TODAY
A conservative Tennessee-based talk radio host has changed his previously skeptical messaging on vaccines after being hospitalized with COVID-19, his family said.
Phil Valentine, who has posted on social media dissuading his audience from getting vaccinated if they aren't "in danger of dying" from COVID, has been hospitalized in the critical care unit and is receiving supplemental oxygen, but is not on a ventilator, according to his brother.
Valentine told listeners after being diagnosed but before being hospitalized that he chose not to get a COVID vaccine because he thought he probably wouldn't die from the disease.

First of all, hes regretful that he wasnt a more vocal advocate of the vaccination, Mark Valentine said. For those listening, I know if he were able to tell you this, he would tell you, 'Go get vaccinated. Quit worrying about the politics. Quit worrying about all the conspiracy theories."

Dammit! My sense of compassion is pretty much gone, in cases like this. Scant pity for damage or wounds that are self-inflicted. Especially with evidence everywhere, proving the truth!

First, you have to advocate the vaccine at least once before you can be a more vocal advocate. All this shithead did was discourage people from getting the vaccine.
I wish him nothing but long, tortuous symptoms of the virus, so he can never again stink up the airwaves with his fascist bullshit.

(44,973 posts)He believed his chance of dying from covid was low, thus he didn't need a vaccine. I guess he was wrong.
