(21,966 posts)without McCarthy's picks on the committee, this is not going to come across as a partisan exercise. If McCarthy had kept his three picks, all of their questions would have been angry, shouty versions of "Wah wah, the Democrats did this, the Democrats did that..." They would have turned it into a partisan clown show.
Without those picks, that will not happen. Today we're going to see Democrats and Republicans working together to do the people's business, without any partisan BS, and I think that WILL expose how Trump Republicans have been operating. I'm not saying "This is it, the GOP is going down!" But it's definitely going to leave a mark.
From a purely political perspective, I think McCarthy has made a major tactical error by not keeping some of his people on the committee. He has thrown away the ability to disrupt and distract the process, which is Plan A in the Trump Republican playbook. And they don't have a Plan B.
