Just like the first impeachment did. Then they can spin it in earnest, rewrite history.
Because no matter how graphic, and damning, they know those images and testimony will go through mulitple filters, and that only a very few Republican voters will even watch it, or take it seriously.
Multiple levels of filtering:
First, the one already firmly in place started by Trump himself...that any traditional news networks, other than FOX, are "fake news" and should never be watched even for a minute. Including the coverage of this "sham witchhunt" investigation.
Then if they do tune in, the "both-sideism" filter on the MSM networks news will placate them.
Then, the Fox, and Newsmax, AON filters when they turn to those sources, who now only have to work from an even playing field, after the more traditional networks have already made it a he said, she said, partisan issue for them, as a starting point to spread their misinformation.
Then Putin's trolls, GOP trolls, YouTube Trumpists, FB nuts, and other propagandists like Dennis Prager etc. take it even further by twisting it to ridiculous levels. That it is actually Democrats, Liberals, that are the ones responsible.....IF anything even actually happened in the first place.
The last filter is time itself. With ample time to repeat lies over and over. So that when its time to vote in 2022, R voters will, at the very least, be confused and believe that Democrats are inventing stuff, and attacking poor Trump needlessly.
That is why they sit so smugly. Disgusting, but that is how they will play it. The only solution is that enough voters come out to overwhelm the GOPs efforts to suppress D votes.
