They are elected officials not movie stars. They were hired by the people to actually legislate.

(6,829 posts)And I'm glad progressives used their fame to achieve it.
Feel free to carry on however, misconstruing my words. This is real action with real consequences that even Dem leaders like Schumer are lauding.
Well done

(9,120 posts)Great job to our grand standers for keeping the pressure on to do what is right for the people who are most in need right now.
And kudos to Majority Leader Schumer for recognizing their efforts! Kudos to him for his efforts as well.
Look at how affected AOC is once she learns the details.
She and Cori Bush have been doing an awesome job in this fight.

(58,785 posts)they're using the big power they have to make things happen, not just pump up people's personal brands. That said, I'm not seeing coverage that indicates this is more than staging so far. Where's (and what's) the beef? The rent's overdue.

Their maneuvers here tho, will have real implications for families desperate to keep a roof over their heads. That's a real result despite the many efforts to paint this group as useless grandstanders.
Here's one of many many articles on Biden's eviction moratorium announcement but I chose this one specifically for you because it features AOC in a big front page picture

(58,785 posts)not a factional label. I do very strongly oppose electing anyone who helped throw progressive government itself under the Republican bus in 2016.
All those people you mention, and millions more, were gravely injured BY of the tragedy of 2016, which is still playing out and will into the future.
I don't hate any individual politician. I do fear voters who would, incredibly to me, reelect those who have come close to destroying our nation. Politicians who refuse to learn from their mistakes, or even worse may be unable to realize they did something terribly wrong and change, shouldn't be trusted not to do it all over again.
Speaking of, congrats and thank you to our progressive Democrats in OH-11 for sending another competent and honorable liberal progressive to congress.
