i thought of a way that might help get some people vaccinated

other countries are desperate for the vaccine. w.h.o. doesn't want us talking boosters until more of the world gets their first dose. magats continue trying to own us "libs," yada yada yada.

so what if people who haven't been given at least one shot had to pay for the vaccine after october 1st (pre-existing conditions excluded). and what if their insurance wouldn't pay for it. or medicare/medicaid? what if the idiots had to pony up the cash to pay for their vaccine while knowing what they gave up has helped someone in another part of the world? would the idea of them personally helping mexico be an incentive? i think it might be a big incentive for a lot of them.

might actually move some people. Stupid selfish pricks!

But it could be a bad look, politically. We don't want to give independents any reason to view Biden/Dems negatively vis-a-vis COVID policy. From the electoral politics side, best to keep the position of having plenty of vaccine for everyone and encouraging everyone to take it.

Of course, we should be shipping as much vaccine abroad as we can. We've got billions and billions of people outside the US to vaccinate, in our own national security interests.
