Gotta love it. I know it's not a big deal, but getting a University of Texas QB mixed up with Oklahoma State is a small FAIL at least. If Ryan was a Singer in a rock band playing Cleveland he'd hit the stage and go, "welcome Detroit".

OP
That's a big fail. Texas (the state) and Oklahoma (the state) are rivals in many ways.

Not just football. One joke I heard from a rodeo rider was Oklahoma is a second rate Texas. There are jokes going both ways of course.

Kinda like confusing Ohio State with Michigan.
I had a professor in college cancel a Friday class because OK was playing Texas the next day ... She was that much of a OK fan (she was from OK, went there and taught there) and the game was that big.

Most NFL players probably don't give a crap...not everyone is like Brandon Marshall of the Bears (a passionate Obama guy), this won't change votes and it's pro sports.
That said, getting UT and Okie State mixed up IS a foolish mistake.
