Perhaps the only way to fix our democracy?

Is to vote out every single Republican that continues to support Trump or has been silent during this entire sordid, disastrous mess.

Put in an all-court press to defeat every Trumpster now in office. Encourage other Republicans to run against them. Sweep them out of our political system.

And then, fumigate the place.

They need to fear the voters more than they fear Donald Trump.

... to run a Democrat in a race that's already a safe Republican stronghold. That doesn't seem to be smart. Wouldn't it be better to spend money wisely and target only the most vulnerable Republicans? This hair-on-fire shotgun approach would be a waste of resources and talent. It would dilute the effectiveness of our limited funds.

If they are challenged by a primary opponent? Especially if they have supported Trump and the Insurrection?

... on races that aren't winnable. It's not that difficult to know which Republicans are vulnerable. We need to be smart, not emotional.

Especially if they have supported Trump and the Insurrection?
Depending on the state or region, something like that will definitely be an advantage to the Republican.

MTG won her race with about 70% of the vote, as I recall?

I really do not support the theory that you should not try to compete if you are behind in the polls. Quite the opposite, I believe those are the races we should try to win.

They do it all the time. But how do you know who is going to win before the votes are counted? Why even have races at all? Just give the seats to the favorites and forget about campaigning.

Typically if there is opposition then skeletons are found. Cotton has had a free election season for awhile.

Assumes all races are competitive. Almost all of them aren't.

The competitive seats are probably the Republicans who aren't pro-Trump.

I'd argue that the original version from the 18th Century is far from a Democracy, a fixed arrangement to benefit some and disenfranchise most.
