(646 posts)I was delighted to hear the news about the mandate for all city employees to be vaccinated and I got a good chuckle from the news out of the Police Union here that they would not abide by the mandate.

(22,438 posts)The health-care unions in my area are using mandates as an opportunity to bargain, as they should. If a union lets one mandate go unchecked, it makes it harder to mobilize for the next one.

Trust me, I've seen this before.

(3,549 posts)I remember people in the olden days threatening cops and others with body fluids saying, 'I have AIDS'.
How many people do they come in close contact with every day? Status unknown. Or inside spaces maybe not so clean. And then buddy up to their partners and other colleagues.
They could think of the vaccine as superhero force field protection against invisible bullets of virus.
Silly rabbits.

Of course, refusing to get vaccinated is another potential means of suicide.
