What you do in the voting booth (even if your employer wouldn't approve)

Last edited Thu Oct 18, 2012, 02:53 AM - Edit history (1)

is YOUR BUSINESS - and no one else's. Not your friends. Not your family. Not your wife/husband/partner. Not your employer. No one.

Unless your employer demands to see your market ballot and to know how you voted -- THEY DON'T KNOW. And that means you vote how YOU want to vote. If your employer asks, tell them what they want to hear and leave it at that. Because there is NO WAY they can find out without going to court to get the record of your vote and I've never heard of anyone doing that.

I guess employers can look up your voter registration in many cases and just fire all Dems - but in many cases I'd think it would hurt THEM to do that since they'd have to get rid of probably half of their employees at least. Turnover costs money no matter what the reason.

I'm saying there is a limit to the damage that can be done by their petulant threats. And I'm also saying VOTE and vote the way YOU want. Because the only person who knows how you voted is YOU.

I think the CEO bastards aren't threatening individual employees personally. I think they are saying "If Obama wins, everyone is out". So they are literally holding their own employees responsible for however the vote comes out no matter how the employees actually vote.

If I were one of those employees I'd already be gone because fuck those guys. I think you'd have to be damn near a moron to work for anyone that would do that.

Shut down the entire company? I'd like to see one of them do it. I bet they won't. These are petulant threats from spoilt corprat brats. People should ignore them.

that ballot itself doesn't have any sort of identifiers that I'm aware of. the only record is whether you voted or not.
