120 new deaths.
Well, people wondered what it would have been like if there were no masks or restrictions to try to contain the spread, were seeing it live in FL right now. The deaths are going to be staggering in a few weeks too. A completely avoidable tragedy.

(23,649 posts)Yesterday fla posted no #s on worldometers

(1,495 posts)My neighbor just proudly told me that her family just returned from a vacation from Florida yesterday! I sure hope they don't have the Covid. They are anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers.

(34,085 posts)that are not reporting cases on a daily basis. When they report, they spread the cases evenly over the intervening period.

(23,649 posts)Neither poster from either post on it added the explanation in the OP
So I gather the #s are the previous days count too
So Thursday fla set the new record of 23k, posted on Friday
Fridays #s of 28,316 are posted on Saturday?
Texas posts low #s initially and when worldometers zeros out late in the evening,
by clicking the yesterday tab, the #s have increased, a lot
It jumped from 2k to 10k after the zero out recently, so im always checking both to see whats changed

(34,085 posts)So even if the data for Friday isn't available until Saturday, Worldometers goes back and corrects the earlier data. (The main reason, full set of data isn't available - they correct all the way back to the early days of the pandemic . . . and as long as things were declining, I stopped investing the time to update. Now that things aren't declining - I don't have the time.

(14,971 posts)Over the weekend, Florida didnt merely break its single-day COVID-19 case record the state shattered it, according to numbers reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Monday.
The CDC halved the weekend data sent by the state of Florida, 56,633 new cases, and put 28,316 new cases Saturday and 28,317 new cases Sunday. Either number blasts the state past the previous high of 23,903 established on Friday by 18.5%.
Along with that infection record, the state set another record, 13,977 current hospitalizations, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

(65,134 posts)Illinois had a 3 day moving average of 2,776 as of today. The 3 days were pretty much flat.
Florida has around twice the population and 10x the COVID cases.
Fivefold disproportionate.

(19,204 posts)The federal government doesn't run each separate state. The citizens of Florida elected DeSatan as their governor. He, and the Florida legislature, are in charge of making Florida's laws.
The only way to get rid of DeSatan before the next gubernatorial election would be to impeach him, and that isn't going to happen in Florida.

(45,494 posts)or the rapture, or something. Maybe this is all Hillary's fault somehow. Biden is punishing red states who didn't vote for him because he's punitive like that.
