Does anybody else see the pattern here?

(3,011 posts)The theory for which there is absolutely no evidence posits the innuendo that the six women who have publicly accused Cuomo of sexual harassment are trying to get him to resign in disgrace so that a Trump-friendly Republican governor can get elected in the 2022 election.
...
Queens Assemblyman Ron Kim, one of several Democrats in the state Legislature who have called on Cuomo to resign over the sexual harassment claims, coined a new term for the evidence-free theory in a reply to a Twitter user who asked if he found it odd that the accusations are emerging as Vance and James are investigating Trump.
No, Kim wrote. I dont dabble in Cuo-Anon conspiracies.

(7,510 posts)On the other hand, the Republicans have been pushing the case that Cuomo's insistence that Covid patients be returned to their nursing homes was malfeasance that caused many deaths.
But I doubt that policy was originated by Andrew Cuomo. It probably goes back to the AIDS epidemic and was designed to prohibit nursing homes from discriminating against elderly patient with AIDS.

(5,164 posts)Hopefully not. If we get Lee Zelden it will be a disaster. I did not feel the accusations were proven and it seems the investigation had serious issues. That is a very serious issue, how democrats are willing to toss that out the window to get rid of him immediately is a huge issue. He became a political liability.

(41,990 posts)I have no idea whether he did anything wrong. I honestly havent seen it if he has. But for the good of his government hes doing the right thing.
Will the right give him that? Of course not. Because they dont give a crap about doing the right thing.

(5,492 posts)Even if you buy the his claim that he didn't know it was wrong intent doesn't matter, he did this to himself and blaming anyone else is simple bullshit.
Getting damn tired of the narrative that we should turn a blind eye to this shit because the GOP does.

Eliminate Cuomo and a Republican Governor will replace him and pardon Trumphitler. That. Is. The. Plan. Thats why hes called Teflon Don, someone who calls herself Laure on Twitter wrote in a Tuesday post capped off with the hashtag #IStandWithCuomo, which has been gaining traction since this past weekend.
The unsubstantiated claims are easily debunked by the fact that Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, would take Cuomos place if he resigns not a Republican.

(1,495 posts)I'm appalled with his behavior, but Cuomo was a good governor of the state, and I fear we will end up with a repub governor the next election. What a terrible situation.

(65,179 posts)I do think there may be doubts about the most serious allegations, but he was clearly in the wrong regardless of motive. He set a bad work environment for sure.
He wasnt my favorite politically either. But I appreciate those times he helped in the early days of the pandemic. And there are definitely Repukes who need to resign.

(14,061 posts)He should use his down time for some self-reflection, as he awaits possible indictment.
Another crash-and-burn.
I dont like the excuses. He should have known right from wrong.

(14,061 posts)Im a few years shy of Cuomo, and I learned at my sainted mothers knee to keep my hands to myself. THAT is the basic lesson here. That, plus everybody else is/was doing it is NOT an acceptable excuse. The guy was clearly using his authority to get handsy with subordinates
Good riddance.
