The never-wrong GOP has painted themselves into a corner.

The COVID resurgence in Florida,Texas, etc., is the result of a deeply-seeded, longstanding,
collective shortcoming within the ranks of the GOP -- the inability to admit: "we were wrong".

They need to create a 12-Step program specifically for Republicans:
Step 10: continued to take personal inventory; and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.

There is a reference in the AA big book about people who are constitutionally incapable of being
honest with themselves -- this applies to the GOP in bold font.

This entire fiasco started as a calculated, political ploy -- initiated by Dusty Roads Trump.

1) After the discovery of COVID 19, he minimized, misinformed, and manipulated the media --
even after he knew it was more deadly a disease than he originally thought (or wished).

2) He used it to create a schism which he could take advantage of. Using a true threat to human life, he
strove to portray himself and the MAGA Republicans as the macho tough guys (fake) and the Democrats
as the intellectual, science-based, overreacting wimps -- a common play out of the GOP playbook.

3) They calculated that the epidemic would run its course quickly and without devastating consequences.
Afterwards, they could crow that the big, tough GOP prevailed and that they "owned the libs".

4) When it took off early in Washington, NY, and NJ, they relished the thought that it was a "blue state virus."
Trump did nothing -- too little, too late, too bad for the dead. The wretched liar said, "There was nothing that
could be done." Now it is back with a vengeance and affecting the "red states", and not by coincidence.

5) When Trump got COVID, he tried to make it appear like it was nothing and that surviving it was proof of just
how tough he really is. The gullible MAGAs ate it up.

6) THEY WERE WRONG. At every turn, they have been wrong. They continue to get it wrong, to the demise
of 600,000 + dead Americans. The real evil is that they KNOW what they preach is a lie, concocted for political profit.
Why do they do it? Vanity, pride, callous indifference to other people's well-being, evil -- take your pick.

7) They peddle misinformation about the virus and vaccines, and thereby lead people to an avoidable death.
The longer it goes on, the deeper they dig in their heels. Even when the political debate is about "trickle-down
economics" or global climate change or January 6th, it makes one angry that the facts clearly show that they lie and
people die. BUT, in this situation, a political game has resulted in the deaths of thousands. Human lives still hang in
the balance. It is unforgivable that they would rather continue on with their ugly pretense than promote the common
good and save lives -- all because they can't admit they were wrong!

"I WAS WRONG." It's not that hard a thing to say.

I fear that they intend to go down with the ship and take us with them, if they have to.

8) "Thou shalt not kill" -- Exodus 20:13 . . . Just a reminder for all those republican pseudo-christians out there.

1. GQP are RepubliKillers. They were happy early when it seemed urban blue states were dying

The really stupid thing is that RepubliKillers think ideology trumps reality.

Blue states got hit early and hard, but then they deployed a not-secret very public weapon: science. They masked up, kept distances and later got vaccinated. New York City managed and stayed on top of the crisis once it got better understood.

had followed up with his boasts about how HE pushed the drug companies to get a vaccine with encouraging people to actually get it.... He might have won the election. Talk about effed up ego there..."praise me - don't blame me" collide . GOP followed.

Their second fatal error... Not realizing vote by mail and paper would mean people would actually vote.

the more they become convinced of of how right they are, and the meaner they get when you burst their bubble with reality and facts.

It is like a penrose triangle, nothing can be done to break the pattern.

5. Sociopaths know right from wrong. They just don't care about it.

They only care about themselves. The GOP is fixated upon power and wealth.
Self-promotion and fame.

They rarely admit wrong doing.

They in fact, pride themselves on the ability to get away with crimes and wrong doing.

The best course of action is to curtail their ability to commit crimes.

They take glee in lording power over others. The crueler and meaner the better.

Sick.

And don't get me started on how they always have to have the last word.

12. Yes, they often enjoy hurting others and seeing them suffer.

They enjoy using their power for evil.

6. They also have zero compassion for the doctors and nurses who have to watch the unvaccinated die.

Almost all of COVID patients in hospitals are unvaccinated. Doctors and nurses are burned out pulling double and triple shifts to handle the tidal wave of patients who get sick and die because they are too stupid to follow the science and get vaccinated. They've bought into every conspiracy theory, and have chosen to be right -- dead right. One nurse told about the emotional toll of holding a dying COVID patient's hand because his or her family cannot be allowed into that area of the hospital to do it. A doctor told of how hard it has been to hold end-of-life conversations with the parents of young children, who will die because of the actions -- or rather, inaction -- of their parents. "We're human beings, not machines, and this has pushed us to our limits, both physically and emotionally," said one nurse.

One hospital administrator in Mississippi said his hospital has failed -- there are no beds for new patients. None. The federal government is being asked to help, and is responding by creating a field hospital in the parking facility.

The Republican governor of MS has reacted to the medical crisis in his state by leaving the state to attend a fund raiser

And DeSantis, the Trumpiest of Trump ass-kissers, has been reduced to asking the federal government to send him ventilators. This is after he defiantly said, "Biden's not going to tell me what to do."

I wonder how long it will before the anti-maskers realize that no only do mask mandates infringe on their "freedoms," so do mandatory speed limits, highway and bridge tolls, seat belts -- both in cars and airplanes -- and staying on the right lane of a two lane road. And what about those yellow lines? The government can't tell me when I can't pass -- I know better than the government when I can cross the yellow line.

It's not as crazy as some things I've heard anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers say.

9. And "as long as I don't die" . You made me think of

the interviews of FG with Woodward. He was asked something like why aren't you worried about getting it yourself? FG responded that he saw the stats - cutoff as being 80 years old. If you were 80+ you would probably die from it.

To me this is very telling. It means that he didn't care about the 80+-year-olds he was looking at the numbers ONLY to see where HE fit in personally and whether he was going to die or not.
