Had the j&j vaccine. Fed not eat or work indoors with others. Wears masks in stores. Got it from a friend who is also vaccinated. She does not have symptoms yet. Just got tested so she does not infect others since friend got it
Stay safe out there!

(30,613 posts)But the odds are extremely good that she'll never get a severe infection.
Best wishes to your daughter.
Shes fine so far. Just scary that she got it. Some of us are very vulnerable and we need to be extra cautious I live with someone immuno compromised. Havent seen my daughter but this is a wake up call

(33,643 posts)that the vaccine makes much stronger.
If you happen to get a test during the (I'd imagine) short window when your body is still gearing up, you test positive.
I'd bet she's going to be fine

(7,412 posts)Many millions of people will get infected and never even know it. We have had a few vaccinated folks get positive tests at work in the last month and have to sit out, the worst symptom one of them had was a runny nose.

(66 posts)We just got out of quarantine. We think we got it from my 3 year old granddaughter who had a fever for a couple of days. My symptoms were mild but my husband did run a fever for over a week. He had the J&J, my daughter and I had the Pfizer. I was shocked we all tested positive.

(3,057 posts)And all evidence points to her being just fine.
But people need to understand that getting vaccinated does not create an invisible protective shield around you. Of course the virus can get inside you, and of course you'll test positive. What vaccination does is kick in our immune sysrem's 3rd line of defense, which is somewhere between Seal Team 6 and Mad Max, leaning heavily towards Mad Max. When you're vaxxed, that army doesn't need 3 or 4 days to get up to strength to fight off the invaders...it's ready to go.
Listening to the media try to drum up hysteria about this is aggrevating as hell, and is doing nothing but giving ammunition to the anti-vaxxers. Look at it this way...putting on your seat belt will not prevent you from being involved in an accident, but will keep you from getting hurt if you do.

(81,467 posts)They ran out of Moderna by our appointment time, so they gave us the J&J instead. That was in March. And so far, NO problems.
