Mandatory masks on planes ends September 13th

I hope they extend it. I just rescheduled a flight for my mom to visit us. Her flight is not until September 16th. She was originally supposed to fly here this month. Then the end of last month she tested positive. Regardless I know she will not want to fly with unmasked people (nor would I want her to). Guess we will have to wait and see if they will extend it due to Delta. I honestly do not understand why they want people to fly without a mask during a pandemic..SMH

In June, but I was really careful, wore my masks the whole time when nec. It was before Delta got here, and I interacted with very few people, even wore a ,ask around my sister and her unvaxxed family. I would be done traveling but I have to go about 300 miles away for oral surgery over a couple sessions but I stay with a friend and basically isolate while there, don't stop except for gas on my long drive. Beyond that, I'm back to lockdown mode until things change for the better.

Major pandemics generally last three to five years, we're in month 18. And much of that is for the same ignorance we see today, vaccine or not.

The black plague took a while to go away and so did the one that is called The 1818 flu pandemic" but it went one for about three years before abating. People refused to wear masks and distance themselves, protested and had brawls, got ugly at times.

They even made an announcement saying you must cover your nose. I wont fly for a while if they make them optional.

Edit: spelling, fat fingers and slow WiFi

I live in New Mexico,. My son lives in Fairfax, VA. The last time I saw him was in October, 2019. I would love to see him again. But I'm not willing to get an an airplane and fly to him, and I honestly can't imagine asking him to do something I'm not willing to do. So, I guess it will be some time longer before I see him. Sigh. What matters is that we are all safe.

what with college, etc and then the pandemic.

She’s scheduled to fly here (Dominican Republic) next month. Now I’m not so sure I want her to. ☹️
