(5,528 posts)I spent 12 days there on Search and Rescue. Worse one I have ever been on and I responded to 9/11, Katrina and Surfside. Not even close.
This does appear to be outside of town so hopefully that will make it less impactful. But it was stronger at 7.2. That doesn't seem like much but the scale is exponential so that marginal difference makes a huge jump in energy.
Those poor people can't get a break. It's tragic

(269,054 posts)Says the South West is destroyed - homes, hotels and every imaginable infrastructure is down - there are several fired and we should expect a huge loss of life.
Folks are trying to dig out screaming family, friends and strangers. It's very, very bad and my colleague says the gangster government won't be of any help.
