He knew everything about Afghanistan. He’s brilliant to get us out of there. If we stayed another year or more, the story would end the same.

The biggest criticism seems to be the mad rush to evacuate at the last second, because the Taliban got to Kabul so fast.

Our government has known for YEARS that the Afghan military was shaky.

Biden was saying last month that the Afghan army would stand up to the Taliban, so obviously he had bad intel.
"Bad intel" is one option. A lot of cooks trying to get the best message out is another. Wishful thinking is another. This is not a surprise to people who should know.

Did they orchestrate this to look bad for Biden?
No.

Plan A, if tfg won the election, a slow orderly withdrawal ( trump had already announced our withdrawal)
Plan B, if Biden won then the taliban would rush across the country to take it as quickly as possible.

If the Kurds were still there we would have had more support and where is Eric Prince?

I'm too lazy to google the date right now, but it happened back before Chump knew he was going to lose the election. Pompeo told the Taliban and the Afghans that the Americans are leaving THIS year, because they (Pompeo and Chump) both believed they would still be in office this year.

This wasn't a devious setup to make Biden (or any other Dem) look bad. This was just mismanagement of everything because Chump and Pompeo were terrible at diplomacy.

First, they thought they'd win in November. There was nobody for whom to set a trap.
Second, the entire 4 years should provide ample evidence that these drones couldn't assemble a strategic plan with contingencies. Everything was seat of the pants.
Third, troops were coming home at some point & nothing would be different.
They're devious, but not clever enough to set a trap for a new POTUS for an event they thought they'd be running.
