watch her show tonight, either live (still on for a few more min.) or catch a repeat. You really need to see the whole thing.
If, like me, you have been irritated and/or enraged by most cable news coverage today, this is the antidote.
I especially appreciated Richard Engel, and the way Rachel gave him the opportunity to talk in a more detailed, sophisticated way about what is happening on the ground.
The whole show has been great so far and shows how this situation should be covered, if true understanding is the objective..

(92,418 posts)Rachel now has a journalist on saying the Afghans feel betrayed
but dont know how to get out of the country
The difference between Rachel verses others, she is letting the people there report, not pontificating their personal bias

(17,138 posts)Far from a cheerleading session for Biden or anything like that. However, she respects the viewer enough to tell the truth without screaming gotcha questions every two seconds. I actually learned much more from her show than any other I saw today.

Biden is in a no-win situation regardless of his decisions and actions. That said, I'm depressed as hell that we may leave countless thousands at the mercy of the Taliban. What CAN be done now? Yes, Rachel. That IS the question.

for appointments at 2:15 and 2:45, so when I finally got home I made some iced coffee and powered up the DVR.
Got to see Bidens speech and it was everything I could have wanted. After Nicolle, I started in on Rachel.
Both of those ladies did a superb job, and Richard Engel was outstanding.
This has been a helluva news day. We are fortunate to have all the people I mentioned to help us sort it out.
They rock!
