My father fought in the last war the USA belonged in when he.....................

dropped bombs on Germany, B-17 Bombardier.

Korea. Viet Nam. Iraq. and Afghanistan. Should not US have been there.
Any gains are not worth the US lives lost.
My son is active duty US Air Force Officer.

The "police action" there was brief (relatively) but out the far end came a modern democratic society. It was bloody and brutal, but like WW2 it produced the desired effect.

South Korea has had its share of dictatorial tendencies, but the nation that emerged is a successful modern nation. The "DPRK" is even more fanatic about preventing its citizens from escaping to the south than the old East Germany was about their citizens escaping to the West.

My dad was a GI in World War II. My father-in-law was in that war, too. My father emerged in one piece. My father-in-law was not so lucky. He was drafted off his farm at age 17, sent to Stalingrad in the dead of winter at age 18, and returned home, minus a leg, at age 19.

Hitler's buddy, Hermann Göring, said in an interview from his cell at Nürnberg: “Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece?" My father-in-law WAS that "slob on a farm." He did not come back in one piece.

I have the highest regard for the Korean people and the country. It was worth it and for the right reasons.

We didn't have to invade Grenada, just bomb their runways. Without their runways, Russia wouldn't have had any reason to be there.

More on the order of wrecking the slant-drilling sites, or even seizing them, but not outright invasion and occupation of the whole country.

At that point in 1990 Iraq was still being promoted as "the new place to do business in the Middle East."

Imagine a world without Samsung and LG. We're much better off economically with a powerhouse SK.
