http://www.gallup.com/poll/154559/US-Presidential-Election-Center.aspxThe demographic breakdown there has 3-week rolling averages, updated weekly, under 2012 Presidential Candidate Support by Group.
The latest 3-week period had Romney leading Obama in the South, but by only 11 points -- with a lead of 9 points for the 3-week period before that, and 11 points for the preceding three weeks. Pretty stable numbers.
And now suddenly (according to what I've read about the cross-tabs for yesterday's Gallup poll) they're showing Romney with a lead of 22 in the South, which is what's behind his "national" lead of several points.

(71,265 posts)1. No wonder their numbers are wrong. They are assuming that the democratic vote in the south will be..
... lower than the last time. And 64% over 50 is just plain nuts.

Though Gallup has a history of overstating Rethug support.

nm. They shouldn't even do the south. Their so called "National polls" imo, should be all of the swing states.
