I never knew or thought about narcissism before TFG

Fortunately it appears to be a fairly rare condition. TFG will be used in text book examples in coming years. But my sister and I decided one of my brothers was one. Nothing so severe as the former occupant but definitely grandiose and self centered. He did have a sense of humor and could feel genuine sympathy and empathy occasionally. At least for awhile. I was just reading about severe grandiose, at least they verified that people like that are miserable inside. Glad to hear that with TFG, I hope he is as miserable as possible and now that he’s a civilian I hope he gets to hear everyone laughing at him often.

1. After listening to TFG's niece Mary,

it seems that true narcissists, like her uncle, are so screwed up that they are also sociopaths as well as narcissists. That means that they have no sense of guilt since they don't care about right and wrong. They only care about themselves and this a severe problem, especially when they are supposed to represent others.

2. I guess there are two varieties, grandiose and vulnerable.

Same drivers down deep but how they act can be different. TFG (and my brother) are of the grandiose variety.

The yam is a pretty extreme case, but more moderate cases of narcissism seem to me to be pretty common. For one thing, that syndrome from what I have read is a fairly common component of the sociopath/psychopath profile.

in some of my family. Way too many. Social networking seems very effective at grooming them as well.

6. TFG was a revelation for me-about my older brother

He ticks all the boxes and is only motivated by greed. He's also a thief-has been since he was young & I was one of his many victims.

And he's managed to run a financial advisor service for decades. Makes fairly big bank but still will steal something he could easily afford. I'm glad I'm too broke to be a client.

And sadly when there was a horrible abuse of my Fathers trust my Sister & I trusted him with the legal portion. I now know that money was wasted & he probably cut a deal for himself.

My whole family is full of Narcissists so basically I have no family.
