Yesterday it was reported that Abbott the anti-masker hypocrite leading Texas is taking Regeneron

My question(s) are this.

1) Is he getting it for free from the CEO that owns the company?
2) Is he paying for it himself?
3) Or his he stiffing the Texans to footing the bill, since he hates mask and social distancing and all of the protocols associated to keep other people safe from assholes like him, that are infected and basically doesn't give one hoot about kids, parents, janitors, bus drivers, ...

... at least from what Rachel Maddow has been saying when she's promoting it on her show, is that the treatment is free.

At the moment, not as many people are using this treatment as could be, so the attacks on him for making use of the treatment seem a bit off target. I think a more fruitful line of attack would be how he's suddenly more interested in taking it seriously when it's his case of covid to worry about, and not the hypothetical (but inevitable) flood of pediatric cases that would be the result of the reckless republican covid policies.

is WHY? Why is he taking it? He's not having any symptoms.

Why waste it when there are so many people in need?

I may be mistaken though. He still had no business getting it if he's asymptomatic and not hospitalized....

Eli Lilly has struck a deal with the federal government to provide 300,000 doses of a drug that's designed to keep people infected with COVID-19 out of the hospital. The cost per dose: $1,250.

So in some form or another you and I are footing the bill for this "guy" if he is on this drug or what it cost and then again the hypocrite élite like he is is getting like this...because somewhere along the line as his hero "the dumpster" we paid a hell of a lot of money for him to get treated.....

... this world. There's plenty that's going unused, there's certainly not enough for everyone to take it as an alternative to being vaccinated, and that's not what we want from a public health standpoint, but at the moment this treatment is not in short supply.

Attacking the governor along these lines is an attack built on bad foundations. It would be much more effective, and grounded, to attack him over the disparity in his overabundance of caution in effort to protect himself versus the recklessness of the lack of effort to protect the children of Texas.

his own insurance.

Besides all his grifting along with his fatcats, surely he has something left of the $15 millions damages he got from suing the property owner and landscaping company over the rotted tree that fell on him when he was a student jogging. The funny part, not funny, is that when he went into politics one of his early initiatives was to get a CAP of $250K put on damages for anybody else in similar lawsuits. That's his Origin Story for all the malicious public policies he espouses - depriving the most vulnerable of anything that might help them while looking out for himself and his cronies.

Oh but the wingnuts pity him - or rather demand he not be criticized politically - for being in a wheelchair. And he's married to a half-Latina, on whom he campaigned as "the first Latina first lady." She is seldom seen in any accomplishments. And the reporters who are always demanding "full transparency" about everything for any Dems have never asked how he got scalded in the shower for so long without help.
