No wonder Republicans in California had to rely on a special, off-schedule recall election as a means to implement their extremist agenda in California. But, it does super motivate the GOP's extremist base to turnout.

They also agreed that they would not require masks to be worn in California public schools.
Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer said he would allow local officials to institute such mandates if they chose.
We have to let our health officials and our doctors make decisions on a case-by-case basis and a regional basis, he said.

(46,051 posts)The recall isn't popular, but it's a question of how many people vote. Luckily, virtually everyone is getting a mail-in ballot with a postage-paid envelope.

(46,051 posts)Several of the people I talked to were aghast at the idea of Larry Elder being governor.
I think we'd probably have a good chance to recall him when he did something stupid, but we shouldn't have to play their games.

(100,081 posts)All they do is complain, destroy and divide and turn everything good into shit. They talk a lot of trash, but that's all they have is trash talk, and even kindergarteners I know can flip shit better than they can. So I'll be happy to vote against them in every election!

(17,390 posts)...if Newsome was so bad, then just wait a few months for the 2022 elections. But, the goal of Republicans is to avoid voters and rely on a narrow minority of extremists to elect an extremist Governor.

(3,486 posts)picked up by the USPS and I'll get another text once it's received at the polling place. It took a total of 2 minutes to vote and mail it in. If we lose this recall election because enough Democrats don't vote, we deserve what we have coming with Larry Elder as our new Gov.

(46,051 posts)I spent couple of hours making calls against the recall yesterday. Almost all calls go to voice mail, and you just hang up. Of the people who answered, I got one guy who couldn't wait until he got rid of Newsom, but he was polite. I had several really wonderful calls with people who are voting no. Just about all of them thanked me for making calls.
I made calls in NC for November last year and for GA in January, and the experience was fine. These calls were a lot more fun.
