(322 posts)is causing a Mass Extinction event of the Stupid. Perhaps the Rethugs could figure that out, and correct course, but their numbers are dwindling, caused by their very own deliberate stupidity and ignorance. You'd think they'd learn by now, the difference between fact & utter fantasy, Truth & lies, BUT NO!!!! Abject Idiocy is the religion at this point...

Deaths per day (Avlidna per dag)
Cases per day (Sjukdomsfall per dag)
Deaths by age group (Avlidna per åldersgrupp) totals from the start of the pandemic
since the beginning of the pandemic:
Ages 0-9 years old death totals: 9 deaths (3 deaths ages 5-9yo, 6 deaths from birth to 4 years old, almost all had massive comorbidities)
Ages 10-19 years old death totals: 5 deaths
(so total school-age (5 years to 19 years of age) children's deaths are 8, despite our schools never really closing, other than the majority of high schools for a period in 2020)
Ages 20-29 years old death totals: 22 deaths
Ages 30-39 years old death totals: 47 deaths
Total deaths for youngest 50% of the Swedish population: 83 (around 2,739 US population adjected equivalent deaths for 166,500,000 people)
99% of deaths here were 50 years and older, 96% of deaths were 60 years old and over, 89% 70 years of age and older

(15,124 posts)The numbers here are skyrocketing!! 345 new cases yesterday.
A front page article in the newspaper today explained what happens to a person with Covid on a ventilator. It's horrifying! Every anti-masker should be forced to read it.

(10,903 posts)Light blue is the less-vaccinated counties on the Covid map. Notice how it lines up with red counties.
Dark blue on the Covid map should line up with blue on the election map.
One that really stands out is that county in central Idaho (Blaine?) Voted blue and vaccinated.

(13,871 posts)than what the margin of victory was for Kemp when he beat Stacey Abrams. If 2/3 of them were Repubs, that is more than his margin of victory.
That is why voter suppression and election tampering are essential for their future in many states.

(13,523 posts)rheumatologist today and boy did she go off on unvaccinated people! I will not repeat what she said-a few choice words! I was talking to her about my Mom being in a nursing home and how it was closed to visitors because the UNVACCINATED STAFF keep coming up infected. One resident is infected. Hopefully that resident is vaccinated and will recover soon. I cant wait until it is mandatory that they be vaccinated. Im glad I have a doctor that feels free to express herself in front of me. I have been seeing her since 1989, so we know each other pretty well.

(65,076 posts)One example:
Illinois is red. We've averaged 3,300 cases a day for the last 8 days with a slight flattening of the curve.
Florida is dark red. Their 7 day average is almost 22,000.
6.5x the cases, 2x the population.
This map makes it look like several states are one notch below Florida, but one notch, in this case, is 30% of cases per capita.
I don't think it would be that hard to gradate the colors more gradually.

(34,076 posts)From my county's dashboard for 8/19: 82 cases per day (on average) based on a 7-day rolling average.
From covidactnow.org for 8/19: 16.5 cases per day (on average) based on a 7-day rolling average.
The shape of the curve matches, but the values on covidactnow.org are about 20% of the actual values.
The last time I looked at covidactnow.org there was a similar discrepancy. I don't know whether it is across the board - or just my county.
